A little over a week away. We are so excited to have Andy back with us. Because we can’t seem to let life be calm for a while, we’ve been house hunting. Now that Andy will be starting as a civilian doctor, we can afford a bit more space. We’ve put an offer on a house and are waiting to hear back. Andy’s already named the place, so I really hope we get it, or he (and honestly I) will be a bit crushed. Andy named it Dogwood Ranch. We came up with the name because 1) dogwood is a common tree here in Georgia and 2) it has a very special place in my heart because the petals symbolize the crucifixion of Christ. When Thomas died on April 3rd, we planted a Dogwood tree on his grave. Oh and also–my mother-in-law reminded me that her mother-in-law who just passed away lived on Dogwood ave. and left her kids and grandkids some money, which will help us refurnish and fix up this place, so it seems very fitting that we give it a name that holds significance for all of those reasons. Since we’re not under contract yet, I’ll just show some pictures from chatGPT of my inspiration for how we’re going to renovate the house. I’m still working on my ancestor’s children’s book, my own novel, and now this house hunting project, so I’m plenty busy. I’ve been battling migraines, but I started a new med on Thursday to hopefully help prevent the migraines. Andy’s playing scavenger hunt with the army to get out processed. The kids are busy with baseball, Tball, ballet, piano, and riding their bikes all over the neighborhood.
