After 7 12 hr shifts, Andy drove straight home. I told him to sleep before coming home because I was worried about his safety, but of course, he didn’t listen to me. Thankfully, he made it home in on piece. We celebrated his return at Izumi’s and then picked up our Tesla (which got hit by a deer a month ago). On my way out of the auto shop, I ran over a screw. It was a huge lug nut and majorly punctured my tire to the point that I could hear it every time the wheel went around. I stopped and discovered it and decided to turn around and head towards Discount tire. About a block from discount tire the screw popped out and I slowly rolled in with a totally deflated tire. Thank heavens they were able to repair it so we didn’t have to replace both tires. We finally made it home from our adventure and Andy crashed. I took the kids to a friend’s pool where they got to play with a whole bunch of church friends and celebrate national donut day thanks to Sister Walton who bought three dozen donuts. On the way home Maverick goes, “Mom, what are we doing today?” I was like, “What do you mean what are we doing to day? The day is over. I took you to the wilderness park, then Izumi’s with dad, and then the pool. It’s dinner, then bedtime. Mom is done.” I was a little perturbed and maybe interpreted that as “are we going to do anything fun today.” But he was just trying to see if there was enough time in the day to go hang out at his friend’s house, which is slightly better, but a tired mama at dinner time who entertained you all day long is not the one to try and get more from.
We were all so excited that Andy made it home (though I think he was the most happy). We did ok without him though. I was able to get a lot of painting done and the kids got to swim every day, play legos, and have friends over. Here are some photos from the week:
